Melissa McMahon wins South West girls’ title

Dorset’s Melissa McMahon won the South West girls’ championship on her final appearance in the event at Royal North Devon.
The 18-year-old from Yeovil had a level par total for the 36 hole competition, with two rounds of 73. She was four shots clear of the runner-up, Jessica Bradley of Tiverton, Devon, who was defending champion.
Melissa also won the Challenge Cup for the best gross score in the first round and paired up with Georgia Hall (Ferndown) to win the County Trophy for Dorset.
Georgia also won the U15 scratch trophy. Another Dorset player, Jessica Kaimikami (Yeovil) won the 36-hole handicap trophy, ahead of Beth Yeoman of Devon. Amelia Daniel (Royal North Devon) won the U13 scratch trophy.
