Georgia Hall joins England team for girls’ home internationals

21 July 2010

Dorset 14-year-old Georgia Hall has been called up to join England’s team for the Girls’ Home Internationals at Bangor Golf Club, Northern Ireland, from 4-6 August.

Georgia, who was the team reserve, replaces Lancashire’s Kelly Tidy who has had to re-schedule her plans following her victory in the ladies’ British amateur championship.

Kelly’s win brought her a place in the Ricoh Women’s British Open, at her home club, Royal Birkdale, from July 29-August 1. She is also playing in the British girls’ championship at Royal Belfast Golf Club from August 9-13.

Georgia, from Ferndown, Dorset, won the 2009 English U13 girls’ championship and the U14 trophy at the 2010 Scottish U16 open strokeplay championship, where she was in England’s winning Nations Cup team. This week Georgia and Cheshire’s Bronte Law are representing England in the European Young Masters in Hungary.

The full team for the girls’ international matches, captained by Faye Sanderson (Heworth), is: Heidi Baek (Felixstowe Ferry), Hayley Davies (Ferndown), Georgia Hall (Ferndown), Brontë Law (Bramhall), Elizabeth Mallett (Sutton Coldfield Ladies’), Alex Peters (Notts Ladies’), Emily Taylor (Royal Lytham & St Annes), Lauren Taylor (Woburn).
